I am a survivor of gun violence, having witnessed my adult son being shot 13 times by police in I have struggled with writing my memoir because I have a grandson who was months old at the time of the tragedy and was also present, as was his biological mother and other family members. We all struggle with PTSD because of this atrocity. My grandson was later adopted by a local family in an open adoption and is still a big part of my life.
